From July 5th 2024 Cooper Hall will no longer be open to the public.

The Cooper Hall Foundation’s use of the venue ended with a Frome Festival fundraising concert by Sir Willard White and Eugene Asti as part of the Frome Festival programme. This is most fitting, given that the first performance in the space was part of the Frome Festival programme in 2012.

I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks first and foremost to my collaborator, Associate Director and dear friend Fay Goodridge. Running Cooper Hall together has been a rewarding and fruitful experience. One that extended way beyond our initial expectations. It has brought pleasure and learning to many within the locality and further afield, as well as to ourselves.

I’d also like to thank: the trustees of the Foundation, the team behind the scenes that keep things moving along (house keeping, bar staff, car parking, the grounds, website), not forgetting of course the many artists who have participated in performances and creative residencies. But most of all I want to express my gratitude to our loyal supportive audience, without whom Cooper Hall’s development would not have been possible. The openness of our core audience has allowed us to present a diverse programme of events that at times pushed the boundaries.

I now plan to utilise the invaluable experience I’ve gained at Cooper Hall to continue my work as a mentor and creative facilitator in a new downsized abode closer to London.

I intend to keep in touch with the wonderfully warm people I have befriended, loved and worked with in Frome. Please stay in touch on
